I'd like to talk about the shit stain of a company called Sofology, I was working there at a depot that I wouldn't like to mention specifically but what I will say is it was a very important depot for the country, I was there for about 7 months employed under an agency with the possibility of a contract at the end of it, now as I'm sure most of you are aware agency's are usually a complete fuck up but in this case the one I was with at the time wasn't the problem, it was Sofology itself.
Upon start at the job literally fuck all training was given out and we was dropped straight in the deep end which understandably caused problems with customers orders getting sent to the wrong depots and quite often going “missing”. Now keep in mind people are paying thousands of pounds for these pieces of furniture usually so it's not really something that can be easily forgotten on the customers behalf, and would all ways result in our department getting the shit end of the stick dealing with angry fucking people all day and getting told to “go and kill myself” literally on one occasion.
Now I try not to let thing stress me out too much and normally wouldn't rant about these things, but when this so called “company” was talking about giving me a contract to then fire me over the phone due to the fact I was starting therapy for potential ptsd it just fucking wound me up, but hey ho that's why company's employ agency because we're disposable rubbish and get paid less with less ties.
I noticed that sofas would go missing ALOT and I mean like enough to definitely raise suspicion, the funny thing is it was usually the ones that were financed that would go missing or the ones that had been paid in full, and now this is where the problems start.
I personally had spoke to too many customers to even be able to count about how they hadn't received there furniture on the promised date, and that there finance payments had started and sofology had been taking money from them. Now in the finance contracts it states that no payment should be taken until the furniture has be delivered yet countless people had told me money had been taken.
I would raise this to the management multiple fucking times just for it to get pard off as if no one gave a shit, I'd literally seen managers put customers on hold and tell them they were going to resolve the matter to just fuck off around the office for sometimes up to an hour going for cigarettes or just talking with each other having a laugh and making jokes leaving the customer on hold for no reason at all, and then on return just hang up the phone knowing that if the cmr rang back they would be on a waiting list for hours and hours on end, they would give fake names to customers a lot of the time and would usually not announce themselves as managers as they didn't want to deal with any problems.
(The reason for this is anyone on my team pretty much had no training so our answer pretty much all the time to problems would be “ill pass your reference over to my manager and ask them to help”)
I honestly believe that sofology is running a nationwide scam frauding people's money and taking more orders then they even have to deliver. On a daily I would be coming across cases that have been ongoing from anywhere between a couple months upto a year and sometimes longer, all with no money refunded or even the furniture they paid for, no lie the best you would get is a £50 gesture of good will.. 50 fucking quid for the sofa you paid 3 grand for! I honestly believe that over 50% of orders had not been delivered even though money had been taken in every case.
During the pandemic while the goverment was advising people to stay home Sofology was trying to force us in to the office to work even though we was more then capable of working from home, even after there had been positive cases of covid in there only days before and then if you denied you would be threatened with termination, there was no thought for people who may live with high risk people or even be at risk themselves, just thought for feeding there big fat pockets with more money.
We would literally get treated like robots given a target of money we had to aquire in a week just for that target to all ways be rising to ridiculous numbers that were near impossible to reach, and they would do this once again threatening you with termination if targets weren't met, essentially this would force people to have to work extra time on there shifts to sometimes not even be paid for all the overtime done.
If you have ever purchased with sofology in the UK I'd like to apologise for the service you had this company had been under 2 names prior to sofology and both company's went bankrupt and collapsed due to similar problems, they just re brand and re name when it happens and then continue fucking people over again and I learnt this from senior staff while employed there, and the amount of times I've literally wanted to tell people on the phone the truth but not been able to due to the fact I “need” that fucking pay check because I'm trapped in the modern world of monopoly and risked getting fired for even thinking bad about sofology at the time is just tiring.
So anyway that's my rant done, and fuck you sofology you money goblin bastards.
