Short but sweet, honestly. My brother is one of three keyholders for a certain dollarish themed store. Yesterday, his coworker (an ASM) and a new guy (non-ASM) unloaded a truck. At the end of the truck, they closed but forgot to lock, the back door. Store manager called the ASM into the office earlier for a stern talking to and a demotion, demanding the store keys.
This store routinely fucks their people out of their days off, out of their raises and generally treats them as disposable entities rather than people. I've watched them abuse my brother to the point of tears for literally no net gain for the store.
So when I say that the ASM, a young woman routinely dealing with family issues, dropped the keys and walked out, I relished it. My brother is picking up the slack. He's still young, he doesn't want to risk his job. Nevermind that he's capped at $12 an hour, and constantly sacrifices his personal life.
He needs a new job, but can't get one without a car. Which he can't afford at this shithole. Goddam it.
