After working in a toxic work environment (IT industry) for way too long I finally decided to change my career a few months ago and started taking courses online to gain a certification. I set a goal for myself, wrote it in my agenda so I would see it every day and focused on achieving it. Then, once I updated my online profile and resume with that new info, I was contacted immediately for 2 interviews in the next two days. I had both interviews and got my dream job offer the next day! More money, 100 percent paid medical benefits, 100 percent remote, better people!
Moral of the story is dont stay too long in a toxic, negative environment especially with mean, condescending people- We deserve better!
I only wish I had done this years ago because I also have more financial opportunity in the future now too. The old job was a dead end. I am already feeling so much happier and was miserable every day before. Don’t be afraid to go for your goals and make that change.
