My employer rejected my request for a raise because of a cleverly-worded job description

Long story short, I work in business administration and I’ve been with my current employer for over six years. Because of my experience, I lead several side projects that no one else on my team assists with, in addition to my normal day-to-day responsibilities. I finally worked up the courage to ask for a raise and got turned down because little did I know after I got hired, HR has since added a bullet point at the end of my position’s job description that says “other duties as assigned.” So basically all the extra projects I bust my ass on every day “fall under” this criteria, which allows my company to give people extra work for no extra pay.
