Well, as the title says, I was discussing salary with my co-workers, because I think that’s so important to do to make sure you’re being paid fairly, and I found out that the least paid person in our office makes $4k more a year than me. Mind you they have also been there a whole year less than I have and are actually brand new. We do the same amount of work, albeit very different kinds of work, but our jobs are both important. My job also just hired a man who isn’t even out of college yet and is starting his pay at $15k more a year than I make. Again, him and I do the same amount of work. I can’t believe how insane the pay discrepancies in my place of work are and I’m incredibly sick of it. I do so much for my job, I stepped up when we were short staffed, I have taken over doing IT for them even though that’s not what my job is, I’ve helped in every way I can and still had to fight just to make $4k less than the lowest paid person.
