My little brother's ex-roommate (she's having troubles so she's been calling me) told me that I was messing my little brother up with unrealistic expectations for how he can live. Not because I'm pressuring him at all, but because I have a job which affords an alright lifestyle and close to 5 weeks off a year. Because I've been able to a couple trips and afford more than the necessities. Everybody should get more than 5 weeks off a year.
I don't know when I'll ever be able to buy a house. Certainly just got bumped out of my consideration for the next decade or so. I have student loans to pay off still. I have medications which would cost thousands a month if I lost my insurance so I can't afford to lose this job. But still I've got it better than so many in this country unfortunately.
