Is it better to state a lower salary expectation and give a huge range if you really need the job to pay your bills? WFH so I am taking that into consideration

I have a second interview coming up and want to give them a huge range. This is fully remote and they already asked me my expectation and I gave them the minimum only I would accept and they seem excited and said they can give me that wtf lol what does this mean?
