The fact is that homelessness is on track to get much worse.
I've worked in the non-profit sector for over 6 years. I've raised over a million dollars for shelters, pantries, casework, and so on. However, I'm burnt out by the subtle exploitation of the non-profit 'industry', and I realize that non-profits are actually — on the whole — part of the problem, because their operation is nestled into capital and will never truly challenge the powers that create the service populations they exist for.
Socialism is what we need, but in the meantime, we need to do what we can to information share and help one another in solidarity as the working class.
I've seen advice on this sub to park at Love's, Walmarts, and so on, privately owned lots where the cops can't bully the poor as easily.
But there is a lot more to that. Let's get a collection of advice together for this purpose. It is absolutely relevant to the purpose of this sub.
