Still have not been paid by my last job. Please help.

Sort of an update / more in depth explanation to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/tymtbg/i_worked_at_a_taco_bell_for_a_week_or_two_before/ I accepted a job at Taco Bell in March in Louisiana because I was starting to doubt that I would hear back from the job I really wanted that I'd interviewed for in February (turns out their hiring process just takes a while). I worked a total of four days, 3/8, 3/10, 3/12, and 3/13 for a total of 20 hours at the rate of $10.50 an hour. During my onboarding, I set up direct deposit. I have dyslexia, so any time I set up a direct deposit for a job, or something similarly important, I *always* triple check what I typed and ensure everything matches up exactly. Taco Bell onboarding was no different. I know for a solid fact that I set my onboarding up correctly. On the morning of 3/15 I called the manager…

I accepted a job at Taco Bell in March in Louisiana because I was starting to doubt that I would hear back from the job I really wanted that I'd interviewed for in February (turns out their hiring process just takes a while).

On the morning of 3/15 I called the manager to explain the situation to her. Thankfully she was understanding, and I told her I don't want to leave her hanging so if she needs me to put in a two weeks I'm more than open to doing that. She said that it wouldn't be necessary and that I'm more than welcome to give her a call if I ever need another job.

Ten days later, on 3/25 I send her a text message and asked when I would be able to expect to get paid. Please note that 3/25 was a Friday. The response I got was simply “Friday.” That's it. So I wasn't sure if she meant Friday as in today, March 25th, or Friday as in April 1st. I decided to wait.

April first came around and I still had not received pay, so I sent her another text in the afternoon. I asked if I could get an exact date on when to expect to be paid, since I still hadn't. She said “I'll check on it did you do direct deposit when you completed onboarding?” I replied and told her I did, and received no response.

On April 5th, I sent her another text asking if she had figured out why I hadn't received my pay yet. No response.

On April 7th, I sent her another one, checking in on the situation again. I got no response.

Yesterday morning, I sent her another text at 10:20 am, after calling the store 5 times (when I knew she would be there) and not being answered. My text read “Whenever you have the chance today please shoot me a call. I'll be available any time except for 4-4:30, 5-5:30, 6-6:30, and 9-10:30. PM for all times listed.” (I know that is weird availability but I now work at a news station and those are the times when we are putting on live shows).

I did not receive a response or a call, so about two hours later, I tried to call the store again, and no one picked up, so I called her cell, again no response, and tried again on the store phone. Finally she picked up, and our conversation went something like this.

Me: Hey Mrs. Jane Doe, I've been trying to reach you about my paycheck situation. It's once again Friday, and I have still received nothing. At this point I would prefer to be issued a paper check, if possible.

Her: I can't issue paper checks. Can you give me your bank account number and bank routing number so I can double check in the system if it is correct.

Me: I'm sorry, I'm not comfortable giving that information to you. I would like a paper check.

Her: Ok, I'll have to talk with my boss.

Me: Ok. Please keep me updated.

Her: You'll have to keep reminding me about this.

Me: Ok, have a good day.

End of call.

I find it very strange that she asked for my bank details, and clearly reminding her of the situation has not been working. Does anyone know if I can even expect to be paid next Friday? I know sometimes it can take a pay period before direct deposit kicks in. That's how it was when I worked for Pizza Hut, but I feel like by now I should've gotten paid.

I'm having trouble finding who to contact about this online, because apparently my state doesn't enforce this kind of stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I need this money.
