Very long story short, I work at the highest end country club in my small town as a manager, and I am quitting. Working here is equivalent to trying to get into a college frat – it has nothing to do with hard work and everything to do with who’s dick you suck. Unfortunately, I don’t fit into the cool kids club and it has made the last year of my life hell. I hate it here. I know that when I quit, my name will be slandered to all the members and basically made to seem like a huge piece of shit. I know this because every employee that has left since I started (which has been MANY), has all been butchered verbally when they left. My town is small, and there are very important members here in our community and I fear my leaving will severely affect my chances of landing another good job. How do I prevent this, or is it impossible? Do I threaten legal action in my exit interview if my character is slandered? How do I go about not losing my good reputation in this city I have made my home since moving here 5 years ago and starting a family. I see a lot of these members on a daily basis outside of work.
