We were just given back our PTO after they took it away because of COVID. It's been like two years of having to decide between my health and my bills but now, finally, I have 14 days for vacation.
Next week I'm moving to a new place and It's been really stressful because things haven't been progressing as quickly as I'd hoped, there's still so much to do and I'm kind-of freaking out. I thought I'd take off Friday to lessen all the burden of moving shit and requested compensatory time off on the app we use. I was debating on whether or not I should use my PTO but since I can't buy things with my smile, ONE DAY won't keep me from kicking it in the mountains this summer. Also, I really feel like this is owed to us after such a long time of helping keep the business from going under.
I just checked the app and saw i was denied. I didn't tell them two weeks in advance. For one day. Im angry, I'm broke, but should I just take the day off anyway? This is fucked up right? I know it's policy but trust me, I've been there a long time and they don't need two fucking weeks to figure out what they're going to do without me for 9 hours.
