I sold my home, incurred over $4k in costs to move to an island to work for a physician only to be fucked. He manipulated me with incentives he never delivered; which I believe he intentionally does because most people are stuck and need his paycheck. After I arrived, I learned of his misogyny, casual racism, purported drug use in his clinic, and the way he speaks to his employees is abhorrent. He told me I had to pay the “paradise tax” washing dishes as a side gig when negotiating pay. I digress – there were red flags, but I took the risk being optimistic, now I’m paying for it.
