It’s a major red flag when you join a team and seven people leave. This is what happened at my current government position. I work with computer servers and have notice the unprofessional way this tech team acts towards one another. I had a feeling I should have left when the entire hiring team quit. Then the two top employees left. Then two more second to the top employees left. And to make matters worst, the HR rep left and was the only one who was fair to everyone.
My job is stressful and my coworker does nothing each weekend shift. We are getting paid good money for him to do nothing while everyone else carries the burden of the missing staff and increased work load.
The manager will always confide in me and tell me how hard it is to be a leader. Then they will do something to make the employees feel small.
Well, I’m not putting in notice. I’m just going to leave next Sunday. Everyone has dropped a goodbye message as a surprise. Like on their last day, they will be like “it has been so much fun working with you all. But I have a new job, bye.” One guy just clocked out and didn’t tell us nothing. We got the memo when processing exit tickets for him.
I’m happy to be breaking free of their strong hold. I can’t enjoy holidays or weekends. I was hired under false pretenses. The job is miserable now that everyone of importance is gone and I’m stuck working with the biggest slacker known to mankind.
You just get miserable after a while. There is only one employee who does work next to me on this team of 10 people. I think even two supervisors have left in secret but the head manager keeps thinking they will come back. They left with a story saying they needed time off for personal reasons. But after a month, that story is just that…a story.
The employee who works like me has threaten to leave if we go back in the office. They claim we are going back in May. Guess that means he is leaving too.
Well, I’m looking forward to the change. The manager should have treated us better. Hopefully I last in this new role for longer than 4 months.
