Trying To Keep My Team Morale Up

So, hoping it's okay to post this. I am a mid-manager for a foodservice operation (think like at a hospital). I am working at another unit until May (short staffing) while my new director completes his training by running the team on his own. I stopped in town for Easter break to see my fiance, and found a minimal crew working the kitchen today. So I said hi, brought in some donuts, helped with the lunch rush, and then sat down to eat. During the meal with the crew (six total) I passed out some Easter Eggs woth money and candy inside. Like 30 bucks per person. They seemed happy with it. I am not religious come up but I pray that I am doing enough to keep my team happy and whole. I have been working with my new director for a significant staff wage increase next year, everybody…

I have been working with my new director for a significant staff wage increase next year, everybody will be at a minimum of 15, and most people will be closer to 20. This is in rural Kansas, so it makes a bit of a difference here. And I'm trying to do little things to keep them happy like I used to do when I was in charge. I know that an Easter egg with some candy a little bit of cash might not seem like much at all, and if the company was funding it, it would have been a lot more. But this is something I'm literally doing out of my own pocket, because I want my people to be happy and enjoy their work experiences as much as they can. Just want to say I appreciate everybody on this period I started reading this 2 years ago, it's made me a much more compassionate and empathic leader hoping to continue this into the next few years, and maybe eventually get that promotion to where I can actually control a bit more of this s***. Until then, happy Easter, sorry for everyone who has had to work today as well.
