Just because I agreed to a cost per service doesn’t mean I work for less than minimum

Title says it all. I did a community theatre job for around $50 a service playing an instrument in the pit. Call time was 6:30 with a downbeat of 7:30. Fine show up and wait, you're paying me. Well show up, rehearse the music alone for 2 numbers. We then wait until 8:20. The first act doesn't end until around 9:30. We are not not done and 11 pm rolls around. I at this point pack up and leave. I know that's not minimum, but I'm a highly skilled worker at what I do and refuse to have my time wasted. So the end of the first week of the run rolls around and I get fired from the gig for the next week. What really pissed me off was that I got an email earlier that night for another gig that paid more that next week, but I turned…
