I work at for a large fast food company in Florida as a cook in the back. I heard higher ups warning people not to talk ab pay per hour so I emailed the Vice President of our location to ask what our policy is on discussing pay. I have now printed the email where he references a large portion of the employee hand book saying that discussing pay will result in immediate termination.
I also have about two years worth of clock out tickets from when I was a minor where I worked more than 4 hours without a break. The same Vice President told me that each minute could equate to a 1 thousand dollar fine to the store.
The problem is I am very very close to the family that owns this and another location. Would there be any incentive to report this.
I am already planning on talking to the Vice President about this policy but i have asked to see a hard copy of the employee handbook so that I can “better understand our policies and procedures” they don’t suspect that I could know about any of this or have my clock out tickets.
