So I've been contacted by a recruiter for a more senior position to what I currently do. I work in IT, 1st line and the position is 2nd line. One thing I've found is that almost no company are willing to train you and want you to have pre-existing skills/qualifications. I would really like this job but am worried I'll get ghosted as soon as I mention that I have no experience in 2nd line. Rather than lie, should I embellish the truth or is it likely I'd get found out even if I did get the job?
