I answered a job posting for Cato yesterday that listed the hours as “8AM-5PM Monday to Friday” (no pay listed). This perfectly meets my availability for weekdays. They sent a reply in minutes asking me to come in for an interview today anytime from 10AM-4PM.
15 minute drive to get here at 10AM sharp; the girl confirms my name and asks my availability. I say “8AM-5PM Monday to Friday as well as some weekends”. She says “I’m sorry, we’re looking for someone with a little more availability”.
More availability as in… the hours you listed on your posting plus voluntary weekends?? Time to waste 15 minutes of gas driving home and get ready for my 3PM interview.
