America is an actual trash fire right now and people around me are acting like everything is normal and I feel like I'm going to explode.
I have been focused on how terrible wealth inequality is for years and it keeps getting worse somehow, I cannot even fathom the amount of money some people have while the vast majority who actually work and create value are struggling and desperately unhappy.
We have CEOs overriding public health claims and putting workers in danger to appease the precious feelings of white supremacist a-holes.
Our healthcare system is in collapse. Healthcare workers are being pushed past their limits for the sake of profit.
Teachers are under attack, big time. There is already a ridiculous amount of control that has made the profession increasingly unrewarding. Now there are laws stating what teachers can and cannot say in the classroom (the message: if you tell the truth about racism you are going to get fired)
LGBTQ people are rapidly losing their right to exist because of laws being passed by Christian conservative zealots.
Rent and houses are insanely expensive, like it costs too much to exist even for people who are working their asses off to try to live by the rules of society.
Climate change is going to happen, it's going to be very very bad, no one in power is doing anything significant about it.
Don't even get me started on the police. They are evil and will be used to crush worker organizing wherever possible.
Everything I was taught about America growing up was a lie and instead of actually fixing anything those in power have doubled down on pretending like everything is ok while people suffer and the worst people in this country profit off of their pain.
It does not have to be like this, it cannot go on like this, enough is enough.
