I just started a new job about 3 months ago. The pay isn’t great for the position (50k) but I wasn’t really in a spot to turn down the offer. Anyway the job offer letter I signed said I’d be given a company truck, 3% match on 401k, hsa, company paid health insurance, company paid phone plan, that I’d be expected to work a Saturday (until noon) once every few months or so, flex time off from November-March, 2 weeks PTO, among other things.
Here I am 3 months later and NONE of those things are true… no vehicle, no matching 401k, no phone plan, the insurance is an absolute joke and it’s well over $100/mo that comes out of your pay, working Saturdays from 7-5 or later (regular M-F hours) for 6 months out of the year, and some Sundays. Flex time off does not exist from what I’ve been told by other people that work here and PTO can really only be used in December-February.
Am I wrong for being a little upset about this?
For context the job is in agronomy (I doubt there are too many farmer type people in this subreddit lmaoooo) I’m in my mid 20’s, grew up on a farm and have 2 bachelors degrees from a Big10 university so by no means at all am I a stranger to working my ass off or putting in long hours or anything, but give me a fucking break.
