She died from heart disease which I believe her stressful work environment contributed to. She worked for them for 3 decades and in that time she was subjected to some horrendous bullying and was constantly under intense amounts of stress. It was intensifying around the time of her death, during the peak of COVID, when it was looking like she may lose her job due to the pandemic.
They've asked us to say something at this event and I really want to bring up the fact that they need to do some serious reflection on the effects of toxic work environments on employee health, but not sure if it will go down well or will be in bad taste. What do you think?
