For context I work security, so our schedule RARELY change. When it does, the supervisor usually informs you a little over a week to prepare you.
Well it didn't happen for me, Friday and Saturday have been my usual days off for months. I can't stress this enough, maybe at this point they just couldn't careless – my days off and my husband's are days we don't have to schedule for a daycare to watch our son.
We have to set it up and pay for the daycare a week in advance, apparently my boss changed my days off to Sunday and Monday – she had since LAST Wednesday to inform me so I could make changes decided not to even mention it.
Yesterday I felt like trash but still worked, I expressed to everyone how happy I was to make to my days off because I really need a break. Still slient, no one tells me of the change and honestly it's not even posted for all to see. The only people that knew were her and supervisors, we had two supervisors yesterday and they didn't tell me anything! Go figure.
Ever since we got this new manager nearly 8 people left already, either fired or just left on their own accord and I'm thinking it's time to do the same which is so unfortunate. Never late, never called off. This was such a big step up for me, I worked a little over a year at a grocey store down the street from the homeless shelter – I was calling the cops every day and I wish I was kidding.
I honestly feel like they set me up for failure, they could of easily notified me of the change. They know I pay and schedule for my daycare a week in advance, I feel like this was the only way to get me to leave. They want all new guards but they can't just fire people for no reason so they did this.
If I dropped my son off today and tomorrow then I would have to pay $300 for them to take him for a full 8 hours both days all because it's unscheduled and once again my new boss knows this.
I don't have family, I don't have friends, it's just my husband and I. Not complaining, we've been making this work for years I just need a memo on changes in advance.
This is crazy.
