The company I work for is amazing, but sadly (and probably because they are nice people) they are shutting down soon. So, I'm back on the job market! I really like coordinating events and marketing, and it is something I have done for lots of start-up businesses, so I often look for those kinds of jobs when I am on Indeed or Ziprecruiter. IT IS WILD HOW MANY OF THESE ARE SCAMS! They say they have a small business and need an entry level coordinator or marketing assistant, but they promise they have lots of chances to grow within the company. They advertise the job as on-site event coordinating and working with non-profits and whatever else they can to get people interested. In reality, these jobs are usually just standing outside a grocery store asking for donations for DARE or some other org that probably never sees the money.
They pay horribly as well, obviously. Make sure you google any job before you show up for an interview, then comb through the reviews until you see the 1 stars. If they all say the job is a scam, believe them. Then set up a job interview and don't show. I am probably only wasting like 10 minutes of their time, but that's the amount of time it takes me to thoroughly vet a company, so I owe them one.
