pay rate changed without notice. legal or not?

I am a manager at a big entertainment/restaurant spot. I do not get tipped out and I get paid hourly. On Easter Sunday a server needed to leave for dinner so I took over the last table he had to get him out. The table tipped me a few bucks cash and 10 dollars cc. Cool. I run my report at the end of the night. Turn in my tip sheet and am told I will see it on my next check. I did. But I also see that I have 79.6 hours at my usual pay rate and .3 hours at $4.65. The majority of that time I was still managing and only took care of one table. Is it legal for them to adjust my pay this way? Especially without notice?
