Moved to very small town in England a couple months back. “Worked” at a warehouse for a while. But they ran on a system of “tell 160 people to come in, but we only need 80 so send the rest home with no pay or compensation for travel”. People would turn up 2 hours early for their shift just to “bank” their position.
The only jobs here are lorry drivers or warehouse operatives, to which I've applied for hundreds. My stepdad arranged an interview with a part time job 40 miles away. But got pissed when I told him that the money I want wouldn't even cover fuel costs and he threatened to kick me out unless I found a job
