Dress Code Warehouse

Hi All, I have been working as a supervisor in the shipping department of a warehouse for the past 6 months and my Manager let me know that we would be reminding our team about our dress code in a few weeks and wanting to discuss our policy with me and the other three supervisors to see if we wanted to make any changes. I was initially assuming that my manager was talking about loosening our dress code but she was referring to making it more strict. I am about 20-30 years younger than my manager and other supervisors who are all women (and I am a man). Hi All,

I have been working as a supervisor in the shipping department of a warehouse for the past 6 months and my Manager let me know that we would be reminding our team about our dress code in a few weeks and wanting to discuss our policy with me and the other three supervisors to see if we wanted to make any changes. I was initially assuming that my manager was talking about loosening our dress code but she was referring to making it more strict.

I am about 20-30 years younger than my manager and other supervisors who are all women (and I am a man).

Our current company dress code is “be clean, be comfortable and wear work appropriate clothing. Your department may have its own dress code that you need to follow” and the shipping dress code has 6 no's
No straps less than 3 on shoulders
No cleavage showing
No crop tops
No shorts shorter than mid thigh length
No underwear showing
No open toe shoes (this one obviously makes sense to stay)

Most of these dress code items seem like they target women and are aiming to shame them. The manager wants to add to our list of rules
No yoga pants/leggings
No jeans with holes larger than a fist

I obviously want to make sure the team is safe, but outside of that I feel like the dress code should be loosened up. How do I bring this up without sounding like a creepy guy?

We are also not the highest paying job (above $15 an hour but there are better opportunities out there) and I feel like this is not a battle we need to worry about right now and that it is going to hurt employee retention.

Any help/insight is appreciated (sorry if anything is hard to understand, on mobile typing this at work haha)
