I’ve had my fair share of shitty jobs with shitty bosses who suck your soul away expecting you to give up your life and it’s still not good enough. I swear with most of these jobs, people were coming and going and always leaving because the job just sucked so bad. And the bosses always complain that the employees are lazy or undisciplined and it’s always their fault.
The job I have now is amazing. It’s also the bare minimum. I work good hours (not being manipulated into 14 hour shifts), I’m treated like a human and expected to make mistakes and when I do, it’s treated with grace. I make a living wage. My managers are friendly and understanding of me. It’s honestly the bare minimum, but the quality of my life has gone up so much compared to my last job. Employees there have all been there several years because the job is worth staying at. Everybody is willing to work hard and do the job and you don’t have people not showing up for their shifts all the time. They respect the job because they’re respected. Yeah, some days I don’t feel like working, but it’s never the same of the dread I would have going into work at my last job.
It’s honestly not that hard to treat your employees well and it makes such a difference. Literally all the “problems” that bosses say their employees have could be solved by just treating their employees like a human being.
