It seems like every other post on here is so much hate on managers when really i hate my life being one.
I feel like alot of times its a “shoot the messenger” type situation. Im a executive chef at a restaurant. I am not the owner. And i feel like i am an okay boss, i havent had anyone quit on me atleast in the lst 1.5 years of being employed at this restaurant.
But addressing callouts, and understaffing… i pay $20/hr to cooks + tips. I dont have more in my budget to pay more. Last WEEK i clocked 81 hours. I had 3 callouts (2 from one employee 1 feom another due to sickness) so i worked 4am-12am midnight multiple days. I miss my dog, and my family =/
I realize i make salary and an okay living at 60k/year but shit still sucks at the top sometimes. But only managers have to “pull themselves up and put the apron on” it seems.
