Just need to bitch this one out of my system

I applied for what I thought was my perfect position. Not only was it what I want to do, in the industry I want to work in, close to home, with flexibility and work from home incentives. First interview was with a software designer and we hit it off immediately. He was excited to introduce me to the team and I was excited to meet them. Second interview was the next day. We did a technical assessment, which I nailed. The boss liked me, the team liked me, and the more I heard about the company and work them more I liked. Third interview was a face to face and it also went well. I knew I had it it the bag.
I did my research and found the salary base would be in the mid 80ks, but understandably knew they would lowball a bit because they were a small company. I just needed to wait until they called my references.
Today was the day. They extended an offer after two weeks of this process. I was so damn excited when I called them back to hear what the had in mind.
First they offered below my current salary.
I told them I was hoping to hit at least 65k, and they eventually said they could do 61k then move up to 63k after 90 days. A little low, bit it's still a raise to me and I thought I would go for it.
So I'm sitting at home a few hours later and my wife is asking all about it. I didn't receive the offer letter yet, but they were sending it on Monday. She asked what the benefits were and if they were offering health insurance. Good question, I don't know.
I texted the potential new boss and they said no. No benefits. Straight pay.
Okay.. how the fuck can a company think to offer less than the marketplace salary, and then even not offer any benefits?
Yeah, it's my fault for not asking compensation at the beginning, but I was a great fit and they needed all the skills I have developed over my career.
So much wasted time and effort on this.

State your worth before wasting your time.
