Supervisor Says I Have to Hold Over

Yesterday my supervisor told me that I have to hold over due to our workplace being short staffed. I told him that I can't hold over and need a 24-48 hr notice to hold over or do other OT. They said that they can't force me to hold over but if I leave I will be put down as a “no call no show” for the shift. I NEVER agreed to hold over in the first place and I left to go home. Can the even do that? List me as a no call no show for something I didn't agree to? I live in California if that makes a difference. I put in my two weeks and this is my last week.
