I'm currently a receptionist at a corporate company, I've been here a year and can say working here for the rest of my life seems like my worst nightmare. I'm almost 24 years old and didn't go to college or a trade school. I was able to get this receptionist job at a great company, receiving great benefits, and management (at least for my department) is great here. This company has a lot of room for growth, which is why my family was very excited for me when I got this job after some disappointment that I didn't further my education. You could literally work from the bottom up here. But, I have found that I don't really fit in here. I'm here for the pay and to just come to work and leave, but here it seems like peoples jobs are their lives. Trying to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life to make money has been so exhausting.
