We recently had a a loss of management and several employees – only 6 employees stayed after this great exodus and needed to pay their bills and still enjoyed their job. Fast forward 2 months we get a new District Manager, New Manager and 3 new employees. But unfortunately things never returned to normal – at first I was scheduled completely outside my availability, I had to leave for a few days for a funeral. Then me and a few others hours were cut to 2 days a week, but only Transgender employees…
We began to ask why our hours were cut – for me, it was because I helped an employee access their paystubs and see they were compensating 1$ less than they should be and labeled as the wrong position (they are also transgender). I was told I shouldn’t be discussing wages and sent home not because of that, but because discussing it “LOWERS TEAM MORALE” Now the other Transgender girl at my job is being sent home for not showing to a shift she did show for. Both of us were completely taken off the schedule – we have yet to be told we are fired and we are getting no solid explanation as to why we are being punished after months of holding this store aloft. This is super disheartening honestly.
