I am six months into a job, basically my first job that can get me some experience, so I can eventually move up a little I guess.
The company's a startup and took off over the pandemic. When I was hired I had a boss and a co worker who I was working closely with. From the day I joined, i was promised a promotion along with my co worker. Then, co worker got promoted to boss's position within 15 days of when I was hired. My promotion was supposed to be 3 months into the job, they changed their mind a day before It was supposed to happen. Reason – ' they have promoted people too quickly in the past and dont have a need for that role at the moment'. Fine. I Understood. My co worker who is my boss now has me on my toes all the time. I go to my new manager (my co worker) every time I need help with the team / work. I go to my previous boss when I have a technical questions. My current boss loses it when she sees that I am talking to my old boss and becomes hostile. She will say things like ' her manager has given her so n so rights' and then comes up with lies that I am not giving her updates', She basically yells at me through messages. I really love the job and I am giving it my 100% but I am over worked. I cant talk to anyone at work about how I feel. I constantly feel my words are manipulated when ever I express myself. Every time I come up with an idea for a project that could help the company, I hear from.both my new and old boss that they are worried I will be over whelmed. They just donot give me the tools to help me grow. I asked my old boss if the company could sponsor me for an event that could tremendously help me grow, yesterday i hear from them that my new boss is going not me. They will give me a recording of the event.
There are so many other small things that I wont bore you guys with but yea just needed to vent. I dont think I have enough experience to find another job, so will stick it out for a year or so I guess.
Forgot to mention, work overtime most of the days without the pay,coz there is just so much work. I also try to study a hour or two everyday just so that I can grow my skills. I wfh, but I donot eat all day coz of my job. Lost more weight while sitting at home than when i had time to go to the gym, so thats fun.
