What?! These things could be related, but it is lunch time in a fairly populous city. I think there may be some easier explanation.
If everybody is working in the middle of the day, then you paradoxically wouldn't be working because there'd be no customers.
At least when 'nobody wants to work' usually comes up, while still stupid, you can at least follow some logic of how they got there.
