I previously worked at a fda regulated factory. I had to quit in February due to compressed fracturing my hip standing 8 hours a day. I was paid $14.75 an hour qhile doing the job of atleast 4 people. We had 2 mandatory 10hr overtime Saturdays a month. The work environment was one of the most toxic places ive ever seen. When i quit so many health problems cleared up. I applied for a new job an hour away and when i got it they offered to relocate me and my family even though it was only an hour. The STARTING pay is $17.01 we had a two day paid orientation with provided lunches and other amenities. I lost my social security card 3 weeks ago and this company went above and beyond to work with me to get another. They paid for new workboots and prescription eye safety sheilds. They even have a $300 lending program where they will lend you $300 to better your life that you slowly pay back over a year. They said that many employees buy kayaks or vacations that will help improve their quality of life. We get 40 hours of pto immediately as new hires. I haven't even had my first true workday and i already feel like this is a great company. I know this sounds like an add but ive had 6 different companies contact me wanting me to work for then for way less or minimum wage. Its not about people not wanting to work, its about companies treating employees like shit and not giving them the basic respect they deserve as a human being. Companies like these get and keep employees for years because they care. Other jobs should take note and realize that if you treat people with respect and actually pay them their worth then they will willingly choose them. Sorry rant over
