Is this a threat: UPDATE

Yesterday I posted about a situation which happened at my workplace. I was in a standoff situation between my manager and I. It was not good, because she was holding a grudge on me for something which happened 3 months ago. She said to me yesterday “you either work the hours that you have been scheduled, or you don’t work for us at all”. That’s a threat to fire me… Edit/forgot to add: I was hired for 6-2 shift, my manager switched me to a 9-5 shift when i was on bereavement without my permission. I have been working with this company for almost 7 months now as a full-time worker. I am in a very good standing with other staff, and the lead manager has heard great things about me. I have been working with this company for almost 7 months now as a full-time worker. I am in a very good standing with other staff, and the lead manager has heard great things about me. I’m one of their top performing workers.

Yesterday I reported the situation to an assistant manager who I get along VERY well with. He passed on the information to the lead manager. She came and spoke with me today, and she completely agreed with me that my manager is being VERY unreasonable to accommodate someone for a VALID reason. She said the words that my manager said were unacceptable, and that she will pass it on to the top manager once he comes back.

She said there were two options, to file an anonymous complaint to the corporate ethics department OR pass it on to the top manager. I didn’t want it to come back to me in anyway, because I’m a good person, so I decided to take the top manager route. Once he’s back, I’ll sit down and discuss it all with him. I want him to be updated with my complaint, and to let him know about the BS that’s happening because of my manager.

In the mean time, the lead manager has asked me to write a letter (nothing fancy) to explain my accommodate request and mention the initial hiring schedule. She said she has no problem to accommodate!! Finally someone who actually gives a shit about their staff, and she’s the boss of my manager.

Note: Also some stupid stuff that’s happened is that my manager promoted someone who was hired two weeks before me (she spoke with them for months about her plans and career vision), and my manager hasn’t talked to me at ALL. She just promoted someone who has worked here for 3 months, and hasn’t spoken to me still… she’s obviously picking favourites…
