The End Game Is A Post Scarcity Economy. IMO

I have just found this sub reddit and I briefly glanced at the library section. Was curious if the topic of automation and how it can lead us to a post scarcity economy had come up. IMO the goal in life is to pursue your interests and passions. Currently we live in a world where we have to trade our time and or skills / knowledge for a common currency hoping that we have enough of it after rent and bills to do the things we are interested in. This is because we do not have instant access to some things such as shoes or groceries aka scarcity. So the question is: Shouldn't the goal be to get automation so efficient that it effectively drops the cost of goods to “0”? Imagine robots that can farm crops and mine rocks using renewable energy sources. They can repair themselves and process…

My mind is brought to the replicators in Star Trek with this. Idk maybe cooked take.
