I had a talk with a recruiter today at a Canadian company (I am American), and it seemed like they had really cool work but their hiring process was god awful.
They wanted me to:
- Talk with recruiter
- Complete a several hour long take home technical skill test (unpaid)
- Several hour long technical interview
- Interview with hr and team for “personality interview”
- Interview with COO for company salary interview
- Wait two months for a Canadian background check to go through and THEN you get an offer
Like what?! Do you think I have the time to do this while working full time and interviewing for other positions?
I'm an engineer and I'm used to long grueling technical interviews but the rest just seems excessive.
