Can this be both a anti work anti life post? I have been a teacher for the last 6 years, love teaching hate the pay, over worked, admin. stuff we have to do daily. Working during covid was tough, working “after” covid students are more lazy than ever.
This week was teacher appreciation week (woo) and I unfortunately have been sick this whole week. The other teachers at work are mad at me for having to cover classes (because we don't have subs wonder why…because the district barely pays them…), admin is also mad at me (same situation when we take off we get mad angry looks from admin), students are mad because I'm not there grading their assignments and magically making their grade from a F to an A at almost the end of the quarter because now they realize they are failing and haven't done any work all quarter. Stressssssss and sick good combo.
I've been trying to apply for jobs outside of my field while I have been in bed this week and of course everything needs 5+ years experience to even get a foot in. I have a degree in International Relations and a bunch of knowledge and work that comes from teaching, but somehow gets me no where.
My birthday is tomorrow and my boyfriend just broke up with me two hours ago because he said he would rather just sleep with girls and never see them again then be in a relationship.
Truly I am just trying to be a good person, live an okay life, find a job where I don't have to live pay check to pay check where I am going home doing 3+ hours more of extra work for no pay. If everyone knows teachers are underpaid and have been for the last 100 years why is it still that way? If politicians know the majority of Americans are struggling with life why is nothing being done. It's like they want everyone to be anti work/ anti life. Looking for some magical words or something to cheer me up I guess.
If you read this all you deserve a cookie.
p.s. should I just make it only fans / become a stripper at this point?
