My daughter is graduating HS and will be a lifeguard. She said that there's a shortage and she'll get 40 hours a week as a shallow-water guard.
I remember being 18 and trying to get a summer job, but my parents were going on vacation soon. I'd walk in, let them know I had a vacation scheduled, and people would be so pissed I'd even walk in to ask for a job at all.
There's a clear shift in power, and it's nice to see. I think our kids might have it a bit easier when they're 25 than I did.
