So a couple of months ago I was looking for a job in Paris so that I could move in with my girlfriend. I received many offers and accepted one from an IT startup with a nice pay and was remote.
In addition, I received an offer from a guy who spoke my native language; he lowballed me hard, offering me nearly half of the pay I received from the startup; his reasoning was that we spoke the same language and that I didn't need to arrange a visa to work (he wanted me to work illegally), so I turned him down.
While I was sorting out my visa documents and all with the startup, he contacted me again, made a new offer that was still lower than the startup, and this is how the conversation went after negotiating for a while.
