My job has this rule where you have to be in your current role for 12 months before transitioning to a new role. This is a “rule” I have successfully bypassed before in moving to other roles to get to where I am today.
A new role opened recently that I am 100% qualified for and have already met with the hiring manager and confirmed I have the skills needed. Today rolls around and I get a interview invite for the the new role after applying a day ago. This hyped me up as this position would be a massive $$ increase for me be a huge catapault for my career.
In comes the out of the blue an invite from my manager to talk about my career path over zoom. During the meeting I was basically told I'm SOL and I can't do anything about it because I'm a few months shy of 12.
This sucks so badly. Anyone else get shafted by a rule like this?
