A little back story about me, I've been in the same level (different roles) for the past 3 years as of June. In those 3 years I've had 3 different roles in which my yearly review is always top tier. But in those three years, I have witnessed every single one of my colleagues, employees, etc. move on to the next level or even higher.
My current manager just got a higher role leaving me to be the longest standing member of my team. A team that started with 12 people, everyone has been promoted, leaving me, someone else, and our assistants. The other person has been there less than a year and is slated for Q3 promo, currently in a stretch role to oversee our team.
I went off on my exiting manager as there is no mention in sight for a promotion and the feedback is “I have to work on think big”…….LOL
- I am the guy who has the most amount of work spanning US, Canada, and Europe. I have so much work that I can fit my whole team's job plus other teams on my plate since I own the largest piece of our business.
- I have full blown country /continent projects that have brought back over $100 million in revenue, and I have personally demonstrated on numerous presentations to the company's vice president, who sits on the same board as the 2nd richest man on earth.
- In my prior role, I was the original spokesperson and owner for a new type of equipment that has been scoped by competitors.
- and when I first got to this level, I managed over 600 people on the worst team, made them the absolute best team, broke company records, and implemented ideas that have been shared across all facilities
yet……think big is the bullshit feedback I get as 50 other people get promoted around me. I've applied to so many companies outside and internally and not a single response back.
At this point, I'm half Assing everything moving forward and checking out.
