I was having problems with my current Restraunt not providing deserved raises after cross training for the whole kitchen (plenty of previous experience) so I just to look around got on indeed and just drooped in a few applications not expecting much..
5 job interviews within 6 hours of applying to any of them, I negotiated wages with every single one of them, something I had never done before but stuck to it today with all my interviews, knowing I deserve more.
I had 1 company that was for a GM position, he sounded interested but had 11 other interviews after me today and that place won't be open for 3 months he said he would call and let me know the status of any offer
Another company that has been playing phone tag since the application day, I won't be working under that
Another that refused to pay more than $0.25 more than my current job (which to his knowledge was actually the same wage)
There was another that offered me a Line Cook position for $16.50, $0.75 more than I make now, not terrible but not what I need to make rent in the apartments im looking into
Then the final company that I worked for as the job before my current, but in another location on the other side of the state. Which is what I'm talking about, worked there for about a year never got my raises, never had my final promotion put on paper was an Assistant General Manager for $12.00/hr this location was the first to talk to me out of all the jobs that contacted me was on the fence about it because of my past experience with them, after telling her that I can't do $14 and if she wanted me to run her store I'd need $17 she came back with $16 seemed kinda reluctant, I told her I had a few interviews to goto and I'd let her know in a few days, 2 days go by, recieve a text something along the lines of “Hey SirLancelotV I have an offer I think you might like to hear before making any final decisions on your new job, please come in and meet me in the store when you can” I do and she tells me she can do $16.25 for the first 30 days as a touch up training period and then move me into the Assistant General Manager, I asked what that wage would be and she tells me “I know its low but we can start that wage at 48” I was astounded “48? Like 48K a year!?” “Yes” I kept my cool but I almost had to goto the emergency room after this interview today my jaw almost hit the floor so hard it would've shattered, the only thing I can even think right now is “Finally, IM CATCHING THE BREAK I NEED”

SO THANKS, thankyou to all of you that are on this sub and helped me achieve this, I would've never had the confidence to argue a wage upwards without you guys even just reading your stories
Also thanks for reading my book, I'm just so excited.
EDIT: for context I'm 20, soon 21 so for me this feels like an amazing position to be in for where I'm at.
