i work with a lot of older women and they're constantly complaining about young people's work ethic. these women do work hard in the warehouse but the reality is that everyone is also working hard out on the floor. they complain nobody wants to do the work in the back, while at the same time being incredibly demanding and critical of everyone who works with them and purposely abrasive towards new people. if they're ever called out, they say 'someone's got to teach these kids for when they get into the real world!' this, said by a group who work no other area of the store, get the hours they want every day and call out all the time.
well guess what? this is the real world and you seem to be the ones struggling with that much more than any of the kids. most of these kids still live at home because there's no fucking housing in this city, so they don't even need to be working but they're still coming in during a fucking pandemic. you know what's not part of reality? expecting everyone to bend over backward for you, doing things exactly the way you want them done and expecting your work area to stay exactly the way you want it. like, these ladies go fucking apeshit if somebody from the floor leaves a hanger somewhere it's not supposed to be. fucking deal with it! everyone on the floor is constantly in and out and all over the place. they're doing a bunch of things all at once and you can't be understanding that someone left a box on a table where it's not supposed to be?
