Today I was fired for not knowing a guy brought his kid to work and being honest about it.
I was his boss, he had attendance issues because he is a single parent. My wife offered to watch his kid so he could work. He said he appreciates it and that he would definitely take me up on the offer.
He brought his kid to work Tuesday instead of calling me about it. It was assumed that because I made the agreement with him that I knew he did it.
I worked 54 hours between Sunday and today to keep things moving and I was fired because of an assumption.
