I work at a tea shop, currently, and they say that making cups for them counts as a break, and that I need to clock out for my smoke breaks. I know both of these things are illegal, but I have no “tangible” evidence of this practice. How would I go about reporting this for proper reimbursement?
Also, I do not get a lunch break, not am I allowed to bring food or drink to work for sustenance. They supply me with one protien shake and one tea a day, as compensation for this. Not sure about the legality regarding this, and I don't plan on being here much longer. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
For reference, I live in Tennessee, in the US.
