Not sure if this is the right place for this but I’m so frustrated!
I had the absolute worst human being as a manager at my previous company that made work a living hell. Imagine Michael Scott with a drinking problem and talked crap about everyone! He was completely incompetent and pulled some of the dumbest things at work, my life felt like I was living in the office. I spent 6 months interviewing and studying to finally land a new job and got the hell out of that place. It felt like such a huge victory, I worked so hard to get ahead and got a good raise out of it too. Especially with inflation and how the world is going right now, I could feel the hit to my wallet and my wife and I’s combined income just wasn’t enough anymore to get by.
Cue to this week, not even 2 weeks into starting my new job! My wife gets an invite for an all hands meeting letting them know the parent company is shutting them down and letting everyone go. The worst part is that they had this meeting the same day the parent company announced their quarterly earnings so they didn’t want to share much information and tried to bury it in the news to keep their shareholders happy with their great earnings!
Now my wife is out of work and my new salary doesn’t cover her lost income so now we’re broke! I fuckin hate this! I’m tired of slaving away for these companies that give zero shits about you and don’t care how these decisions will affect your life. I think it’s time I start an only fans and make my own income lol
