service industry vs. ‘real job’ (sort of)

This is my first time posting and I thought it would be relevant. So I got a student research job for 15/hr, full time, at my university for the summer. So, I went seasonal at the restaurant I work at, starting on May 23rd (my start date in the lab) and will come back in the fall. I told my boss this a month ago with no objections from him.
