Why I won’t use my bachelor’s degree.

I have a bachelors degree in history, with a minor in secondary education. I always dreamed of teaching high school history. Due to the pandemic hitting in 2020, when I graduated from college, I took a job making 15.50/hr to make ends meet. The job did not require a college education. In June 2021, I was offered $32,000 a year before taxes as starting pay to teach at a school over an hour and 2 counties away. A week later, I was offered a promotion attire company, making $43,000 a year, while receiving all holidays off and an extra week of vacation, while still being able to work from home. The company also employs guaranteed raises each year for each employee. Needless to say, I’m not following my dream job, but my dream of one day owning my own home is more possible than if I was teaching.
